Lewis O’Brien says Huddersfield Town’s 0-3 defeat to AFC Bournemouth is a hard result to take.
It was a disappointing afternoon for the Terriers, as they fell to their first home defeat of 2022.
Speaking to HTTV after the game, O’Brien gave his thoughts on the game.
“It’s a hard one to take.
“There was a lot of anticipation on the game and we game into it in good spirits.
“Obviously off the back of a couple of not so good games, but we believe in ourselves and what we could do, and we came into the game believing that we could get three points out of it.
“They were the better team today and deserved to take the points.”
The midfielder was handed the Captain’s armband for the game, and commented on the honour of being trusted with it.
“I always enjoy being the skipper, it’s an honour to be the skipper of such a great Club.
“It’s hard when the game’s going like that, especially when I’ve not had my best game either and it’s hard to get myself motivated and then try and motivate the lads as well.
“When they’ve had so much of the ball, and no one can get on it from our side, it’s kind of hard.”
Town now go into the international break, and Lewis commented on the feeling going into it.
“We’re not downhearted at all.
“The results come like this, it’s the Championship, anyone can beat anyone.
“They’re one of the best teams in the league, and they showed it today.
“For us to be where we are at this moment in time is outstanding from where people picked us to be at the start of the season.
“We’re all disappointed that we did lose, we’ve got this two week break to rest and recover and come back as the Huddersfield Town we have been in this 17-game run.”
