Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán has been named the Sky Bet Manager of the Month for February 2022!

Having overseen a run of four wins from six in an unbeaten February – adding a further eight matches on to Town’s now 16 game unbeaten run in the division stretching back to November 2021 – Carlos wins the award at the third time of asking, having been previously shortlisted in both August and December 2021.

Across a congested February in which we played six league fixtures, Town won four and drew twice, taking 14 points from a possible 18 available.

While headlines were grabbed after beating top of the table Fulham at Craven Cottage, the Terriers had a number of memorable performances across the month – including a last-minute winner after coming from behind against Cardiff City at home, professional performances against Derby County and Birmingham City and hard-fought draws against Preston North End away and Sheffield United at home.

Nominated alongside Nathan Jones (Luton Town), Scott Parker (AFC Bournemouth) and Gary Rowett (Millwall), our Head Coach was chosen by former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies to be the recipient of the honour.

To celebrate the award, Carlos Corberán sat down with HTTV to discuss the fortunes of his side, his feelings on winning the award and all of the hard work the staff behind the scenes has contributed to Town’s strong form.

Discussing the award, he said: “As Head Coach of Huddersfield Town, I feel very proud to receive this award as it means the team has showed a positive dynamic of results and performances during February.

“Sometimes these awards arrive with the coaches as they are the ones who are the most visible, but for me this award is one for the collective.

“The main actors are the players, but there is a big group of staff that work so hard to help the players perform as well as they can. I feel very pleased to be working with all these people, and with this group of players.”
