Town Head Coach Carlos Corberan has shared his thoughts on Town's first Sky Bet Championship loss of 2022.
Reviewing the match, our Head Coach went into detail about how the side didn't function to their full potential in attack, whilst lacking their usual agression in the press - ultimately concluding that the result on the night was a fair one.
“We came here with the idea to show the type of performance that we can show, but during the passing of the minutes we couldn’t find the best of our style in attack because we didn’t in any moment break their last line.
“We lost the ball in the middle of the pitch more than usual, and when you start to lose the ball without pressure you give opportunities to the counter attacks, which is what happened for me with the first goal.
“In defence in many moments when we tried to be aggressive they were breaking the press and we weren’t aggressive enough to recover the ball in the offensive half and they started to feel like they could beat us.
“The last point for me was to manage the set pieces well, but as soon as we took off the third centre back we weren’t strong enough in the set piece situations and they created the feeling in the end that they deserved the three points.”
