Carel Eiting says Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 Emirates FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest is a disappointing result to take.
Despite taking an early lead, the hosts had turned to the tables by half-time to seal their progression to the Quarter-Finals.
Speaking to HTTV after the game, Eiting was quick to give his thoughts on the game.
“I’m disappointed, of course.
“I gave everything, I think the team gave everything, but the goals were just a bit too easy, too soon after each other.
“It made it very difficult.”
The midfielder went on to discuss the frustration of conceding two goals in a short space of time.
“The match was 90 minutes, there’s a lot you could talk about, but the goals are really important.
“I think we gave them away too easily today, which was a big difference to the last games we’ve played. A lot of times we’ve kept clean sheets, so that was a big difference.
“Playing 2-1 behind is more difficult – we tried everything at the end, but maybe we needed to cross more balls from the sides and not too much through the centre because it was a lot more easy for them to defend us in the last 10 minutes than we’d hoped.”
Town are back in action on Friday 11 March 2022 when they travel to face West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship.
“Hopefully we can learn from this and use it for Friday and our other upcoming matches,” Carel continued.
“We just keep going, we keep training and working hard to perform at our best.”
