B Team players head out for further senior experience

- Josh Austerfield & Jaheim Headley join Harrogate Town
- B Team duo join Sky Bet League Two outfit on loan
- Comments from Loan Manager David Fox

B Team duo Josh Austerfield and Jaheim Headley have today joined Sky Bet League Two side Harrogate Town on loan for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

It is a second spell at the North Yorkshire club for midfielder Austerfield, 20, who spent the second half of last season playing for Simon Weaver’s side. He finished the season strongly for his loan club, starting the last four league games and making 11 appearances in total.

He recently signed a new long-term contract with the Terriers.

This is a first loan spell at this level for left back Headley, 20, who has gained experience through prior loans at Yeovil Town, Bradford (Park Avenue), Welling United and Hyde United.

Jaheim also signed a new contract at Town recently, putting pen-to-paper in May 2022.

Town’s Loan Manager David Fox commented:

“We have an excellent relationship with Harrogate’s coaching staff, and they were very keen for Josh to return.

“He had an excellent end to the season, and we really saw the benefits of the loan for Josh upon his return. It helps that he will stay so close too, as it allowed Josh to come back here when his schedule allowed to be evaluated by our staff.

“This is an important loan spell for Jaheim also, as we believe he is ready to challenge himself in league football.

“Harrogate have watched him for a long period now and were very clear that he was an important target for them, which was good to hear.

“Again, our positive relationship with Harrogate and the relative proximity were all factors. It’s also good that he will move alongside Josh, as that should help him settle in.

“We’re excited to see both players in action this coming season.”
