- Comments from Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys
We are pleased to share that Academy players Cian Philpott, Dylan Helliwell, Donay O’Brien-Brady, Michael Roxburgh and Luke Daley have all had their contracts extended with the Club!
As preparations for the 2022/23 season continue across the Club, several of our Academy prospects have been handed extended contracts that reflect their ongoing development and improvement within our programme.
Cian Philpott (attacking midfield / wing) has signed a deal until 2025 and Dylan Helliwell (midfield) has signed a deal until 2024, while both Donay O’Brien-Brady (midfield) and Michal Roxburgh (goalkeeper) have signed one year contracts that include a Club option for a second year.
Meanwhile, B Team defender Luke Daley has had the option of an extra year exercised on his current contract, which will keep him at Town for the 2022/23 season.
Commenting on the contracts, Academy Manager Emyr Humphrey’s said:
“It’s a special day for these young men to sign their first contracts as professional footballers.
“While this is a day and occasion to enjoy, they’re all aware that this is where the real work begins as this is the just the first step toward having a successful career, which is a goal we share with them.
“I’m really pleased for them all, and am confident that the Club can give them every chance to succeed – it’s now for them to decide what they want to make of that opportunity.”
