2021/22 RETAINED LIST CONFIRMED

1 June 2022

Six players leave Huddersfield Town at conclusion of their contract

- Huddersfield Town confirm 2021/22 retained list
- Contractual options taken on Harry Toffolo and Josh Koroma
- Vallejo, Brown, Blackman, Campbell, Sarr and Eiting depart

Huddersfield Town can today confirm its retained list of players following the conclusion of the 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship season.

Harry Toffolo and Josh Koroma have both had Club options for the 2022/23 season exercised on their existing contracts, retaining their registration with Town.

Koroma joined the Club in 2019 from non-league Leyton Orient, and was the Club’s top scorer in the 2020/21 season. Having impressed, he was awarded the number 10 shirt ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Signing from Lincoln City in January 2020, left-back Toffolo has become a firm fan favourite at Town and was a fixture in the side across the 2021/22 campaign as the Terriers finished the season third and reached the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Six members of the 2021/22 First Team have not been offered new contracts and will now depart the Club; Álex Vallejo, Reece Brown, Jamal Blackman, Fraizer Campbell, Naby Sarr and Carel Eiting.

Joining his hometown Club in the summer of 2019, Fraizer has been a key member of the squad since signing. Having played the majority of the 2020/21 season and scored many decisive goals, his contribution has been felt both on and off the field throughout his time with Town.

Naby won Town fans over almost immediately after joining in September 2020, with Álex joining him at Town a month later as a free agent in October 2020. Both have made telling contributions in their time with the Club, and played big roles across the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, helping to propel the Terriers up the Sky Bet Championship.

Having both signed on short-term deals in January 2022, Jamal and Carel depart having been part of the squad that reached the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Reece Brown joined the Club in June 2019 and has spent the majority of his time on loan with Peterborough United across three separate stints.

The players departing the Club this summer have all made significant contributions to Town throughout their time as a Terrier, and we would like to thank Álex, Reece, Jamal, Fraizer, Naby and Carel for their effort and commitment to the cause.

Everyone at the Club would like to extend their thanks and best wishes for the future to all of the players leaving us this summer!
