Central midfielder signs from Milton Keynes Dons
- David Kasumu joins Huddersfield Town
- Club pays an undisclosed fee to Milton Keynes Dons
- Comments on midfielder from Head of Football Leigh Bromby
Welcome to Huddersfield Town, David Kasumu!
The 22-year-old central midfielder joins the Club from Sky Bet League One side Milton Keynes Dons, putting pen-to-paper on a three-year contract running until the summer of 2025. The Club also has the option of an extension into the 2025/26 season.
Kasumu’s previous deal at Stadium MK ran out this summer, and he turned down a new contract ahead of this move to West Yorkshire. As he is under 24 years old the Dons are due compensation, and the two clubs have reached an agreement on an undisclosed fee.
David arrives at Town with just under a century of appearances for MK Dons under his belt across all competitions.
Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome David to the Club, as he is a player who has been on our radar for a long period.
“His qualities are exactly the ones we look for in one of our central midfield roles within our game model. David brings fantastic energy to the pitch, can carry the ball well and has great defensive instincts too. When we met him, it was very clear what a great attitude he has; he shares our ‘Terrier Spirit’ when it comes to hard work.
“We also firmly believe that he can improve significantly in our coaching and physical programmes, which is reflected in the length of his contract.
“We’re really excited to have David with us.”
