LOAN: STRIKER KYLE HUDLIN JOINS AFC WIMBLEDON

15 July 2022

B Team forward to move to Sky Bet League Two side

- B Team striker Kyle Hudlin joins AFC Wimbledon on loan
- Forward to play for the first time in Sky Bet League Two
- Comments from Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys

B Team striker Kyle Hudlin has joined Sky Bet League Two side AFC Wimbledon on loan ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The 22-year-old forward, who joined Town’s B Team permanently on Wednesday after departing Solihull Moors, will move to the London club for the season, with a break clause that can be activated in January 2023.

It will be a first experience of league football for the 6’ 9” tall forward, who has previously played as high as the National League.

This loan occurs on the same day as attacking midfielder Jack Rudoni makes his move in the opposite direction, joining Danny Schofield’s First Team from AFC Wimbledon for an undisclosed fee.

Town’s Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys explained:

“As we mentioned when we announced Kyle’s signing yesterday, we had a lot of interest in his services from clubs wanting to take him on loan even before the signing was confirmed. That gave us some great options in terms of what is best for his development.

“We’ve watched a lot of AFC Wimbledon as a club in our recruitment process on Jack Rudoni, so we’re very familiar with how they play. That made them a standout candidate for Kyle’s next step, and we’re happy to complete this move today.

“This is a good next step for Kyle, as Sky Bet League Two is a step up in division. We will closely monitor him over the coming months.”
