New B Team signing Kyle Hudlin sat down with HTTV to discuss joining Huddersfield Town’s Young Terriers.
The striker joins Town’s Academy from Solihull Moors, and explained that he can’t wait to get going.
“It’s a move that I kind of saw coming because of the opportunity it graces.
“I had other interest from different clubs, but this was definitely where I set my mind to and feel like I’ll get the best development for the rest of my career.
“It’s a great environment to come into, lovely members of staff, and everyone I’ve met has just been so polite and made me feel so welcome from the start.”
Having spoken in depth with Head of Academy Recruitment, Lee Mellor, and Academy Manager, Emyr Humphreys, the 22-year-old discussed why joining Town’s B Team set-up is the next logical step in his development.
“I feel like as an athlete you always set targets and being in the B Team has given me that target to push for the First Team and seeing that you have to be welcomed in the First Team environment, I know as a footballer you have to prove yourself, so that’s definitely set in my mind.
“That is my target, that’s something to achieve, and then we continue from there to progress.”
Hudlin also took the time to highlight what he hopes Town fans will see from him.
“I’m not your average 6’9 striker!" he joked.
“I feel like people will definitely recognise me for being more technical than I’m known for being beneficial in the air, but I believe towards the back end of this season especially, I’ve developed that area of my game as well.
“It’s something that’s been recognised because it’s never been an area of my game that I’ve had to work on, I’ve always had the advantage of being taller!
“I definitely believe that I’m starting to find a balance of both and being here and the development that I’ll get from the staff here, I’ll be able to reach the limits of using my cheat code let’s say!”
