With the 2022/23 season about to get underway, here's some useful information about streaming of Huddersfield Town games over the course of the new campaign.

WATCH LIVE

Domestic

The domestic market comprises of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man.

The following fixtures/matches do not (generally) qualify for domestic streaming:

- Saturday 3pm fixtures (on account of ‘Blocked Hours’ protection from Article 48)
- Any of Sky Sports exclusive Championship selections
- All Carabao Cup matches
- Play-Off matches (exclusive to Sky Sports)
- FA Cup matches (where all Rights are vested with the FA)

Matches falling outside of those classifications do qualify for streaming in the domestic market under certain circumstances.

The following midweek Town games currently fit the above criteria:

Tuesday 13 September 2022 – Wigan Athletic (H)
Tuesday 4 October 2022 – Luton Town (A)
Tuesday 18 October 2022 – Preston North End (H)
Wednesday 2 November 2022 – Sunderland (H)
Thursday 29 December 2022 – Rotherham United (H)
Wednesday 15 February 2023 – Stoke City (A)
Wednesday 15h March 2023 – Norwich City (H)
Tuesday 18 April 2023 – Sunderland (A)

Extra Midweeks Matches

In 2022/23 there are 10 rounds of scheduled midweek matches in total, two more than the usual quota.

The first two have been moved from the 46 weekend slots on account of the disruption to the schedule caused by the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The dates for these fixtures are:

Tuesday 16 August 2022 – Norwich City (A)
Wednesday 31 August 2022- Bristol City (A)

Given that these two fixtures have been moved from weekend slots, they are treated differently to the rest of the scheduled midweek matches. We will confirm the streaming options for these matches in the week before the fixture.

World Cup Matches

The Championship will resume at the Quarter-Final stage of the World Cup.

There are two Saturday 3pm fixture slots during this period (i.e. post Quarter-Finals, but before finals) where Article 48 will not apply.

Those dates are:

Saturday 10 December 2022 – Sheffield United (A)
Saturday 17 December 2022 – Watford (H)

We will confirm the streaming options for these matches in the week before the fixture.

Bank Holiday Matches

The following matches are currently scheduled as Bank Holiday matches and are therefore eligible for domestic streaming consideration at the discretion of the home Club.

Boxing Day - Monday 26 December 2022 – Preston North End (A)
New Year’s Day - Sunday 1 January 2023 – Luton Town (H)
Good Friday – Friday 7 April 2023 – Watford (A)
Easter Monday – Monday 10 April 2023 – Blackburn Rovers (H)

International

Supporters who live overseas will be able to watch Huddersfield Town’s games that aren’t selected to be shown live by domestic or international broadcasters.

A full list of countries that can watch each game will be available in the match preview.

This offers a broad selection of games to overseas supporters with the UK Saturday restriction not applicable.

Town fans who are in markets without EFL broadcasting agreements (Dark Markets) will be able to watch all of Huddersfield Town’s games on iFollow HTAFC!

A list of the current Dark Markets is available at the bottom of the article.

However, from the start of the 2022/23 season there are some changes to this position that will come into effect. These are a result of a new agreement with Pitch International.

1) All scheduled midweek matches selected for broadcast in any of the territories outside of those highlighted in Core International Territories, may also be shown via Club streaming products. Usual restrictions apply to any TV selection within the listed territories.

e.g. Huddersfield Town vs Wigan Athletic on Tuesday selected for international broadcast on a Tuesday evening, may not be streamed in USA, but can be streamed in Mexico.

2) Any Championship match (irrespective of fixture type) that is picked for international broadcast may also be streamed through Club channels in any given country outside of those core markets listed in Appendix One, IF the local broadcaster has elected not to show that match.

e.g. Birmingham City vs Huddersfield Town on a Saturday 3pm is selected for international broadcaster, but the German licensee elects not to show it (despite having the right to), then it can be streamed through Club channels in Germany.

Overseas supporters will be able to watch these games by purchasing an International Season or Match Pass on iFollow HTAFC CLICK HERE to subscribe!

CUP GAMES

EFL Cup games and Emirates FA Cup games are not eligible for streaming. This means that Huddersfield Town’s Carabao Cup tie with Preston North End won’t be available to watch on iFollow.

LISTEN LIVE

All games will be available to listen along to via iFollow HTAFC.

New subscribers will be able to listen to Sunday’s game through our live audio commentary by purchasing either a Monthly or Audio Match Pass to tune in live.
