Head Coach Danny Schofield was pleased with what he saw from the players in Huddersfield Town’s pre-season friendlies against Harrogate Town and Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

While both sides were on the wrong end of the respective 1-0 scorelines, when speaking to HTTV straight off the pitch, Danny explained that it was a very satisfactory afternoon.

“It’s been a really busy day.

“We played Harrogate, a lot of players played 60 minutes there, and then more First Team players played 60 minutes here.

“It’s been a successful day in terms of minutes!

“We wanted to try and dominate the ball with an attacking focus.

“We’re trying to always build, trying to penetrate – I think we did that to a certain point.

“Areas to improve on for me are creating that attacking finishing area.”

Across the two games, Sorba Thomas, and new signings Connor Mahoney and Sorba Thomas, got their first pre-season minutes under their belts.

“I think that’s really positive,” Schofield said.

“They’ve all had individual programmes since they’ve returned to pre-season, so for them to get on the pitch and play 45’s a real positive.”

Next up for Town is a four-day training camp at St George’s Park, which our Head Coach says will be anything but easy.

“We’ve got an intense training programme!

“We’ve got a lot of things me and Narcis are talking about in terms of what to build into the players, so we’re going to focus on that and build that into the Tranmere and Bolton games.”
