Connor Mahoney may only be 25 years old, but he’s a familiar name to everyone with good knowledge of the Sky Bet Championship having played senior football for nine years already!
Born in Blackburn, Connor started his career in his teens with Accrington Stanley, but was soon bought by his hometown club in December 2013 after just six senior appearances for the League Two side.
He made his Rovers debut in the FA Cup at just 16 years and 337 days old, becoming the Club’s third youngest ever debutant at the time. Connor signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday and made 21 Sky Bet Championship appearances for the Club over the next few seasons.

He was offered a new contract in 2017, but he instead opted to leave – joining Premier League side AFC Bournemouth that summer, penning a four-year contract.
After two quickfire cup appearances for the Cherries, Mahoney headed back to the Championship on loan for further experience. He joined Barnsley on loan, and then Birmingham City for the 2018/19 campaign. He thrived at St. Andrew’s, with his two goals and four assists in 32 appearances earning him the Club’s Young Player of the Year award at the end of the season.
Mahoney moved permanently to the division in the summer of 2019, joining Millwall for an undisclosed fee that was reported at seven figures. He’s spent the last three seasons at the Den, netting five goals and seven assists in 68 competitive outings before departing at the end of June.
