BIRMINGHAM CITY (A) MOVED TO FRIDAY 5 AUGUST

21 July 2022

Match moved at home side’s request due to organisational issues

- Birmingham City vs Huddersfield Town moved to Friday 5 August 2022
- Game has been rescheduled from Saturday at request of home side
- Stewarding and medical provision affected by Commonwealth Games

Our first away game of the 2022/23 season at Birmingham City has been moved to the evening of Friday 5 August 2022.

The game was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 6 August, but Birmingham City informed us on Tuesday that they are unable to obtain stewards and medical cover for the date due to the Commonwealth Games, which is taking place in the city.

As a result, and after discussions with the EFL about available options on Wednesday, the game will now be moved to Friday 5 August 2022 at St. Andrew’s, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Huddersfield Town’s Operations Director Ann Hough explained:

“With the issues that Birmingham City have encountered, playing on the Friday evening is the best available solution for our First Team.

“However, we are fully aware that this is far from ideal for any of our supporters who have already purchased travel or accommodation for the game. Unfortunately, this situation is totally out of our control.”

As the game is now displaced from its original Saturday kick-off, it WILL be available to stream on iFollow HTAFC.
