Huddersfield Town B will face Lincoln City in the Central League Cup on Tuesday 25 January for a 1pm kick-off at Canalside.
Fresh from a resounding 8-1 win against Salford City on the 19 January 2022 in their last outing, the Young Terriers will be looking to build on that performance as they get closer to their next Premier League Cup outing in February.
Having seen several regular starters from the first half of the season depart on loan – Brahima Diarra and Josh Austerfield to Harrogate Town, Kian Harratt to Port Vale – this has been a transitional period for the side, who have welcomed back the likes of Ernaldo Krasniqi (who had been out on loan at Falkirk) and Pat Jones, who is playing his first real minutes of the season after long term injury.
Those changes seem to have now been largely overcome if the 8-1 showing against Salford City is any indication, with Pat Jones in particular very much picking up from where he left off by netting a hat-trick. The young Welshman was joined on the scoresheet by Danny Grant, who is also working his way back to full match fitness, Micah Obiero with a brace, Brodie Spencer with his first goal for the side and Ben Midgley from the penalty spot.
