B Team forward Kieran Phillips has signed a new long-term contract today, committing his future to Huddersfield Town until the summer of 2025!

The 21-year-old made 10 Sky Bet Championship substitute appearances for the Terriers in 2020/21 and is now furthering his senior experience through a season-long loan with Sky Bet League 2 side Walsall.

Having played most of his career as a striker, the majority of Kieran’s minutes for the Saddlers have come as a winger on the left and right of a front three so far this season. He’s made 30 appearances to date, scoring five goals – including this stunner against Salford City in October!

Kieran started his career in Town’s Academy before moving to Everton as a youngster, only to return to Town – initially on loan – in January 2020.

His previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current season.

Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby commented:

“We’re delighted to secure Kieran’s future to the Club, as he’s another one of our young players that we feel has genuine potential to become a First Team player for us.

“I think he showed his ability in flashes during his appearances for us last season, and the first half of the current campaign at Walsall has been an important next step for him, as he’s shown he can handle the robustness of playing week in and week out.

“His challenge now is to keep improving for his loan club and to come back here and challenge for a place in our squad next season.”
