LOAN: KIERAN PHILLIPS JOINS EXETER CITY

Striker heads back out on loan to Sky Bet League 2

- Kieran Phillips leaves Huddersfield Town on loan
- Striker joins Sky Bet League 2 side Exeter City
- Comments from Head of Football Leigh Bromby

Huddersfield Town striker Kieran Phillips has today joined Sky Bet League 2 side Exeter City on loan for the rest of the 2021/22 season.

The forward was recalled from his loan at fellow Sky Bet League 2 side Walsall on Friday, where he played 31 games in all competitions – scoring five goals – largely from the wide attacking positions in a 4-3-3.

He now heads to Exeter City, who sit eighth in the table – just one point outside the Play-Off positions with 41 points from 26 games.

Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby explained:

“It’s been great that Kieran has played so many games for Walsall during the first half of the season. Sky Bet League 2 is a robust division, and he’s shown a real capability of playing week-in and week-out.

“He will have learned a lot playing out wide and that’s a useful tool in his arsenal, but we see Kieran’s long-term future as playing through the middle. Our conversations with Exeter have shown that’s where they see him contributing to them too, so that’s why this move has come to fruition.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how Kieran fares in the second half of the season.”
