BEN JACKSON JOINS DONCASTER ROVERS ON LOAN

28 January 2022

B Team Captain joins Sky Bet League 1 side for remainder of 2021/22 season

- Ben Jackson joins Doncaster Rovers on loan
- B Team left-back to add to league experience
- Kieran Phillips also recalled from Walsall loan

Town B Team Captain and left-back Ben Jackson has joined Sky Bet League 1 side Doncaster Rovers on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

Having previously spent a successful period out on loan with Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League 2 last season, the Young Terrier will make the step up a division to further his development and add to his football league experience.

An attacking left sided full-back, Jackson is a dead ball specialist, with his delivery and shooting prowess making him a real threat from set pieces. Having excelled in a senior role with the Town B Team this season, ‘Jacko’ joins a Doncaster side fighting for survival in the third tier.

Putting pen-to-paper on a long-term contract with Town in August 2021, Jackson is committed to the Terriers until at least 2024, with the Club holding an option for an additional year. Having already appeared for Carlos Corberán’s First Team, the 20-year-old has incredible potential.

Commenting on the move, Loan Manager David Fox said:

“Having lead by example in the B Team so far this season, it’s the right time for Ben to go back out on loan and add to his Football League experience.

“He conducted himself excellently at Bolton and was all the better for the experience, and we’re hoping for the same again this season, with the added pressure of playing in a higher division.

“Doncaster are fighting to stay in Sky Bet League 1, so he will have to handle the pressure of that situation and look to contribute to that effort. Having experienced the highs of automatic promotion with Bolton from Sky Bet League 2, it will be good for him to go in to another club with plenty to play for.

“We have high hopes for Ben, and hope to see him come back a better, more experienced professional in the summer.”

In other B Team loan news, striker Kieran Phillips has been recalled from Walsall and is back at Canalside.

Good luck to Ben on his loan!
