Huddersfield Town midfielder Jon Russell couldn't hide how much the fans support means to him following the Terriers 2-1 win over Cardiff City on Wednesday night.
The win saw Town extend their unbeaten run to 16 in all competitions as they beat Cardiff for the first time since 2003.
Speaking to HTTV after the game, Russell gave his thoughts on the game.
“That was incredible!
“There is no feeling like it, to get in that position and to take the chance, I am absolutely buzzing!
“That is what we’ve been doing all season, we don’t give up and we keep fighting for the win.”
After scoring his first Championship goal, the midfielder spoke about how much it means that Carlos Corberán believes in him and what the unbeaten run is doing for the team.
“It is massive, it’s all I wanted was this opportunity.
“I’m just doing my best and I am grateful to be in this position.
“It gives our confidence a massive boost, we deserve it and we are grateful for how well we’re doing with how hard we’re working.
“We just hope we can keep going!”
Russell also took time to discuss how much the fans mean to him after their reaction to his late winner.
“They are incredible, I love the fans!
“They are the best fans I know, they are so loud and are just up for it.
“They are on you from the start and they are just incredible!”
