Josh Ruffels was delighted to have made his first Championship start with Huddersfield Town against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.
An end-to-end game, neither side were able to find the clear-cut chance they needed to walk away from the John Smith’s Stadium with all three points.
Speaking to HTTV post-match, Ruffels gave his verdict on the match.
“I’ve had to be patient all season, so it’s a really nice feeling to finally get my full debut.
“It was a good result to go with it as well.
“I’m really happy.
“We had to grind it out at the end of the game, but we also created a lot of chances.
“I’m not sure if it really was a foul from Danny Ward at the end of the first half.
“We had our chances, but like I said, it’s a good point.”
The game saw the left back make his first Championship start following two impressive Emirates FA Cup performances, something he admits means a lot to him.
“I’m really really happy.
“It’s been a long road and a tough start, but the boys have been brilliant.
“I knew what I was coming into when I first signed here, so to make that first start is really pleasing for me.”
The 28-year-old went to discuss the fans support.
“It makes me really proud.
“To be a new face here, and for them to take to me the way that they have, it’s a really nice moment.
“This day I’ll remember for a long time.”
