Tom Lees says it was a good point to take away from Deepdale following Huddersfield Town’s 0-0 draw with Preston North End on Wednesday evening.
An end-to-end game, neither side were able to find the clear-cut chance they needed to take all three points.
Speaking to HTTV post-match, Lees gave his verdict on the match.
“It was a hard-fought game.
“It’s a good point, considering the form that Preston are in, it’s always a tough place to come here and they’ve turned a lot of teams over lately.
“Obviously, we go into the game wanting to win, but we’ll take a point and another clean sheet.”
The final whistle saw Town make it three successive clean sheets, something the centre back is pleased with.
“We take it game by game.
“We’ve got Lee behind us if anything gets through, and he’s on really good form as well.
“We’d had a few injuries and we’ve changed it lately from a back four to a back three, even in games sometimes, so we’ve got to be able to adapt.
“We’ve just got to go out and follow the plan that the Head Coach gives us.”
The Terriers have a quick turnaround for their next Sky Bet Championship game against Sheffield United at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022. Lees commented on what the squad can take into that game.
“That we can dig in when times are tough.
“The last 10 minutes, we had our backs against the wall.
“At home we’re doing well as well and we’ve got to go and carry that form and make a good start like we have done at home.
“We know where we’ve got to improve at home, I think it’s clear for everybody to see – those second halves have got to be better.
“That’s what we’ll be aiming to progress in the next game.”
