Man of the moment Jon Russell joined our regular HTTV Preview Show to discuss his first few games as part of the Town First Team.
Having scored a dramatic last gasp winner against Cardiff City in the sixth minute of added time, Russell shared how the moment made him feel, as well as opening up on the reception he’s had from Town supporters who’ve voted him Man of the Match on three separate occasions already this season.
Going into detail about the work he’s done behind-the-scenes at Canalside with to get himself ready for First Team football and developing from the B Team, there is lots of information about who Russell has taken guidance from within the Town squad and the players he idolised and wanted to emulate within his position growing up.
Smiling through much of the discussion, Jon also talks memes, chants and the cohort of former and current Chelsea players who have swapped Cobham for Canalside, giving specific detail on Tino Anjorin, who he played with at various youth levels for his previous club.
There is also talk of the upcoming test away at St Andrew’s against Birmingham City, with Russell giving some insight into how preparation for the game has been.
