Town make it 12 games unbeaten in all competitions as they see off Barnsley

- Huddersfield Town 1-0 Barnsley FC
- Duane Holmes the match-winner for Town

Duane Holmes fired the Terriers in to the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup after his finish early in the first half was all that was needed to separate the sides.

Starting quickly, Town’s winner was worked in to Holmes’ path by Sorba Thomas and Josh Koroma, with the flying Welshman’s curled ball forward flicked on intelligently by Koroma and gathered on the run by Holmes.

Bursting into the box thanks to a great touch on his right foot, Holmes shifted his body to finish with his left, squeezing a low curled effort right in to the corner to get the Terriers off to the perfect start.

Despite making a number of great chances to extend their lead, Town weren’t able to add to their tally before the final whistle, with a largely comfortable 1-0 win all that was needed to see the Terriers through to the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Barnsley improved after the break with three half-time substitutions spurring them on, but Town kept them at arm’s length and saw out the match in a professional manner to secure passage in to the next round on the 100th anniversary of our sole FA Cup triumph in 1922.
