Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán spoke at full-time of Town’s dramatic late win against Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Asked to share his emotion at full-time of Town’s dramatic last minute win from behind, Carlos shared the pride he felt in his players.

“I feel very pleased for the players, because for me in any second they never give up allowed the team to achieve this very important three points.

“First of all it’s important to me to have the reward for the good performance of the team with the three points.

“Especially, more than the tactical performance the mentality performance.”

Asked to expand on his thoughts about the mentality of his side, the Head Coach highlighted the awareness his side showed and what pleased him the most about their competitive nature.

“I think it’s very important to have this mentality, to always be aware about the needs of the game, to always be protecting the defence but after having the spirit to attack.

“I liked it a lot today because I was watching a game one more time that was about the spirit of the team, they are not going to give up, they are going to give everything they have inside themselves inside of the pitch – and I’m very pleased when I see the players competing how they were competing today.”

Sharing what was discussed at half-time before Town turned the game around late on, Corberán gave some insight in to the discussions he had with his team.

“Be a little bit more patient, take a better position for me on the pitch and try to face them better in the middle to attack better on the sides.

“When we were attacking the sides to not only have one player, to have the movement in behind of the playmakers.

“And after when one cross arrives, to arrive to the opposite side to finish the cross and the opposite full-back to control the counter attack and close inside because it was one of the key points that we had to control today.”
