Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán is grateful for the supportive messages he received from fans following his absence from the Terriers’ 1-0 win over Barnsley in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

Speaking to the press in his virtual press conference, Carlos was quick to express his thanks.

“I was following the game.

“There was no delay, so I was watching the exact same second as my staff!

“It’s not the same as being at the Stadium, but it was a positive experience.

“I appreciate every message of support I’ve had.

“It was a pity for me as the Head Coach that I couldn’t be at the Stadium, but there isn’t anything to be worried about.

“From tomorrow I will be in the Stadium, I have been training with the group this week.”

Looking ahead to Town’s Sky Bet Championship game against Preston North End on Wednesday 9 February 2022, Town’s Head Coach discusses what he expects from the side.

“There is something common in every game in the Championship – that it’s going to be a high challenge.

“We are going to be playing against a team that are very competitive.

“The squad that they have and the work that they’re doing with the new coach will make it a very competitive Championship game.

“It’s going to demand from us the best level that we can show.”

The Spaniard also provided an injury update on Pipa, who was forced into a substitution during the game against Barnsley.

“Pipa was feeling an injury.

“He had a scan yesterday, and the results of that are positive, so we won’t miss him for a long time.

“As soon as his symptoms start to stop, he can train with the group.

“I hope that’ll be as fast as it can, but he won’t be available against Preston.”
