Huddersfield Town Women continue their Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup campaign on Sunday 18 December against Dronfield Town Ladies FC; 11.30am kick-off.
After a successful start to the defence of their title, Town Women host Dronfield Town Ladies FC. Looking to continue their unbeaten run in this year’s Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup, the defending champions welcome Dronfield who play in the East Midlands Women's Regional Football League.
The 2021/2022 champions have made an excellent start in the competition. A convincing win against Penistone Church Ladies First Team in the first round, followed by a home win against Sheffield United Community Foundation saw the Women Terriers into the third round.
Having won the County Cup three out of the last four times, Town Women hope to continue their success in this competition. With new players and new coaching staff for the start of the season, this is anything bar a forgone conclusion. The Women Terriers may go into the match as favourites but will not take anything for granted.
Dronfield Town Ladies have made steady progress this far, winning both their matches four goals to one. This bodes well for the visitors who love scoring goals. However, Town Women will be hopeful of containing their scorers and coming out on top. As defending Champions and finalists or winners in each of the last four years the County Cup has been held, Huddersfield Town Women will not want their run to end here.
The Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup has been a happy hunting ground for the Women Terriers in many previous years. It won’t be an easy task as Dronfield Town will want to spoil the Town Women party and will do their best to make the fourth round.
