Michael Hefele departs role as Club Ambassador to explore coaching opportunity

- Michael Hefele leaves role as Club Ambassador of Huddersfield Town
- Promotion winning central defender joins West Bromwich Albion
- Club wishes Michael well in future endeavours

Michael Hefele has today resigned from his role as Club Ambassador of Huddersfield Town in order to accept a coaching position with West Bromwich Albion.

Having first signed for Town as a player in the summer of 2016 from Dynamo Dresden, the tall central defender was part of our 2016/17 side that secured promotion to the Premier League.

Scoring five times in 48 appearances as a Terrier before departing for Nottingham Forest in 2018, his career was cut short by injury and the German returned to Huddersfield in an off-the-field capacity in the summer of 2021.

Once again departing the Club for the Midlands, Hefele will join the First Team coaching staff at West Bromwich Albion having enjoyed a good working relationship with Carlos Corberán during their time together in West Yorkshire.

A good opportunity, the Club wishes Michael the very best in the future and thanks him for his work within the community since returning last summer. With a special place in recent Town history, ‘Hef’ will always be welcome at Huddersfield Town.
