Huddersfield Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham spoke about his team news and our upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against Preston North End on Boxing Day in his latest press conference.

Our Head Coach spoke to the media in his press conference before our Boxing Day fixture against Preston North End.

Fotheringham started his press conference by discussing his team news ahead of our first festive fixture.

“Tino Anjorin has had his surgery and we’re supporting him the best we can, he is currently back with his parent club Chelsea in London.

“David Kasumu has been great for me since I came in as Head Coach, he’s had a slight problem with his Achilles, which has been inflamed, but it has settled down and he has been back in training this week.

“Matty Pearson is chomping at the bit to get back! He is starting to join in with warm-ups in training now – he is a big player and a big leader for us, he’s got a really strong mentality. The medical staff have done brilliantly with him.”

Speaking about his views for the rest of the season, Mark commented:

“I’m really positive and optimistic about the rest of the season.

“We’ve picked up points with a huge injury list, and now we’re starting to get players back so we can have a more rounded group – I’m looking forward to it!

“I know the strikers we have can score goals and have great numbers across their career, but I want goals to come across the entire team as well.

“We have shown a lack of composure at times, but we’re playing in the right areas and I’m sure the goals will come.”

Mark reflected on our recent results and performances when he spoke to the media.

“It’s fine margins that have cost us in the past couple of games – there is no issue in terms of spirit, the lads have been working hard with real determination.

“My only frustration is that we haven’t given our amazing fans more points to celebrate.”

Our Head Coach then looked ahead to the Preston game on Boxing Day and the rest of the upcoming festive fixtures.

“We know Preston are a very settled team, they’ve got a good coach there who is doing a great job – they have real aspirations of getting promoted this season, but we can give anyone in this league a real game when we play at our best.

“We must come into these games full of belief and desire because we can change the picture of the full season.

“What I’ve got here at this Club is an amazing squad and support system, if we can keep performing well and cut out some naivety, we’ll be fine.”
