Sitting down with HTAFC Sounds for an audio exclusive interview on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, our Academy Manager Jon Worthington spoke about his extended role overseeing our entire Academy at the Club, and what that role entails.
Discussing his path into coaching – including a spell qualifying as a physiotherapist – this conversation allows supporters an in depth look into the Town Academy, with Jon openly discussing the aims and practices that help the Club create players who can contribute to our First Team.
Speaking in detail about the physical work the players undertake, their off-field programme and the strict training regime that is planned in both individually and as a group, the discussion gives a real insight into how the Young Terriers are given the best opportunity possible to progress from Under 19 level through our B Team and beyond.
Especially relevant this season with so many Under 19 players making the step up to B Team level with the more regular starters in that side doing so well within the First Team group, there’s never been a more fitting time for Town fans to get to know what happens behind-the-scenes within our Academy at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex.
