Jordan Rhodes’ 96th Huddersfield Town goal on his 200th appearance for the Club and a first as a Terrier for Kaine Kesler-Hayden was enough to secure an important win on the road at Deepdale.
Our first victory at Preston since November 1969, the Terriers had to come from behind after Greg Cunningham converted from a first half corner, giving the home side the lead going into half-time.
Responding, Town came out for the second half inspired, and their spirit and fight turned into chances once Brahima Diarra entered the game. His direct running and energy opened the game up, and it was his cut back to Jordan Rhodes that created the first.
Rhodes almost doubled his tally a few moments later, but saw his effort canon back off the base of the upright. Town didn’t have to wait long for the winner however, with Jack Rudoni’s brilliant burst forward and silky skill rewarded when his left footed driven cross was turned home by Kaine Kesler-Hayden at full stretch.
