Town were defeated by Watford at the John Smith’s Stadium in their first game back at home in the Sky Bet Championship since the 2022 FIFA World Cup break recently ended.
The Terriers pushed forwards in the first half as they looked to take the lead as Danny Ward had two shots from range that went just wide and out for a goal kick.
Despite the chances from Town, Watford defended well and managed to get to half-time with the score 0-0.
The only two clear-cut chances of the game for Watford were converted by João Pedro - first a strong finish on the break and the second a headed effort from a corner - and these ultimately won the game for Watford.
