Mark Fotheringham said that securing a first win at Deepdale since 1969 will give his side “something to build on” with two home matches coming up in quick succession.

Sharing his thoughts at full-time, the Head Coach said:

“I’m really relaxed.

“It was a really disciplined and professional performance, and it gives us something to build on.

“Teams are going to really work hard to create chances against us, and I thought the backline was excellent today, including the goalkeeper.”

With the Town comeback sparked by an equaliser from Jordan Rhodes on appearance number 200 for the Club – making it 96 goals for Town in total! – Fotheringham singled out his striker for praise, saying:

“I’m delighted for Jordan.

“With the shape of the team, we’re only playing with one striker.

“He came in and showed real individual class as a starter today, and that’s what Jordan is about.

“He’s really clinical in these moments and thrives in those big moments, so I’m really satisfied for him, happy for him and his family that he’s scoring goals.

“I know how proud he is to be playing for this great Club.”
