Huddersfield Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham spoke about his team news and our upcoming Sky Bet Championship fixture against Watford in his latest press conference.

Speaking to the media in his press conference, Mark spoke about team news and gave an update on injuries ahead of our Sky bet Championship game against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

“The plan was for Tino Anjorin to start against Sheffield United, but he suffered an ankle injury the day before the match.

“It’s a significant injury and we’re devastated for him as he had worked so hard to build his fitness back up after his illness – he is a big player for us and he brings a lot of creativeness into the final third, so now we’re just going to assist him the best we can.

“Etienne Camara had Covid last week, but he is back in contention tomorrow after a strong week of training.

“It was great to see Jonathan Hogg and Tyreece Simpson out on the pitch last weekend, but we have to build them up as they have been out for a long time – they have a real impact on the team.”

Our Head Coach discussed the breakthrough of the younger players and what they bring to the team.

“Brahima Diarra will start this weekend, he is ready to play in the Sky Bet Championship and I am ready to see what he can do against the big names in the Watford side.

“Diarra’s still young so we have to be careful, but the Academy will be really proud of him alongside Etienne Camara, Loick Ayina and Brodie Spencer as they have all stepped up when we needed them.

“Younger players only come into our group when they deserve it and I’m really proud to see how they’re developing – we’re lucky at this Club to have so many experienced professionals who can help them out on their way.”

Fotheringham touched on the importance of the fans and the need for them to get behind the lads.

“When our fans get behind us, we are like a different animal – the players can feel the extra push to make that important tackle or go on that run and we need that push to help us climb the table.

“The fans are the 12th man.”

Finally, Mark looked ahead to tomorrow afternoon’s game against Watford in the Sky Bet Championship.

“I respect Watford, they’re a good club and a team I always enjoyed playing against – they are going to be a big test for us.

“Slaven Bilić is a big name in world football and someone I admire, but we want these three points and we will have the home crowd behind us.”
