We’re delighted to confirm that former Head Coach David Wagner will be visiting the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 27 August to attend our next Sky Bet Championship fixture against West Brom.

His first visit since he left the Club back in 2019, the German-American was famously at the helm for Town’s promotion to the Premier League via the Play-Offs in the 2016/17 season, cementing his hero status amongst the fan base.

The second promotion winning former Town boss to visit the Club in as many home matches, we were of course joined by Neil Warnock last time out against Stoke City.

Wagner had been due to attend our final regular season game of the 2021/22 season against Bristol City but was unable to at the last minute, however his assistant Christoph Bühler was at the John Smith’s Stadium for our Play-Off Semi-Final victory over Luton Town.

Not the only Town legend due at the John Smith’s Stadium for the game, former player Darren Bullock will be present in our Hospitality areas to discuss his time as a Terrier, sharing stories and giving his opinion on the game itself.

In total, Wagner managed 154 games as Town Head Coach after arriving from Borussia Dortmund II, and has since gone on to manage German giants Schalke 04 and test himself in the Champions League with Swiss side BSC Young Boys.
