Danny Schofield said that West Brom will be a "tough challenge" when he spoke to the press on Friday morning.

Speaking to the media in his regular press conference, Danny reflected on the extended break between fixtures after the postponement of the Coventry City game last weekend.

“It’s been good to have a week to prepare after such a short pre-season, we’ve been able to work on a few things with the players both on and off the pitch.

“The delay was out of our control, so we’ve adapted and taken the positives out of it where possible.

“We’re lucky that we have staff with the experience to know what needs to be done when these things happen.”

Schofield spoke about the fitness of the squad after the Norwich City fixture.

“Everyone is okay from the last game – Tino was just precautionary after a dead leg, and he has been training and is looking fit and well.

“When players get injured or suspended, it’s an opportunity for other players.

“Tomorrow is a big game against a tough opposition.”

Our Head Coach went on to discuss the development of the squad so far this season, from upcoming players to the more experienced Town players.

“Pat Jones obviously came on and made a big impact against Norwich and we’ve known about his ability for a while, so it was good to see him come on and perform so well – he has a lot of potential has been playing and training well with the B Team and First Team.

“Etienne Camara is developing really well; he’s showing a real confidence which you need stepping into the First Team and the senior players clearly trust him when they pass him the ball.

“Danny Ward has been playing really well, he came back in pre-season looking fit and sharp, and Jordan Rhodes is the same.

“When you get both forwards up and running with two goals each, it’s a good position to be in.”

Danny then looked forward to tomorrow afternoon’s game against West Brom.

“West Brom made 10 changes for the Cup game against Derby County after beating Hull City, so they have got a really good squad depth.

“They’ll be a tough challenge; they’ve got some really good attacking players and a real clear way of playing and structure.”
