Huddersfield Town winger Pat Jones was pleased to have score his first professional goal against Norwich City on Tuesday evening.

The B Team youngster was introduced in the 75th minute, and pulled one back for Town just six minutes later!

Speaking post-match, Pat was quick to comment on how he was feeling.

“I’m feeling good! I’m very pleased to score my first professional goal, but I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t get anything out the game.

“I’m probably a bit more annoyed at myself that I didn’t play Jordan at the end, I just overhit the pass a little bit.

“I’m really pleased with how I impacted the game when I came on, but one side of me is disappointed that that ball didn’t quite get through and we didn’t get anything out the game.”

As well as getting his name on the scoresheet, the game also saw Jones make his return from injury.

“I’m really happy with my own performance, but that’s probably just the high standards that I hold to myself.

“I’m disappointed I didn’t get that ball through at the end, but I’m really pleased with the impact I had.

“It means a lot to me, a lot to the hard work that I’ve put in – I’ve had a lot of setbacks in the last 18 months.

“I’m really pleased with the contribution I had on the game tonight.”

The 19-year-old went on to discuss his goal in more detail.

“Jack Rudoni slid me in, and I just sort of got at it!

“That’s my game, getting one-vs-one against players, I back myself against any sort of defender one-vs-one.

“I just thought to go outside and then cut inside on my left foot.

“My finish on my left foot I think is quite good actually, so yeah, I’m really pleased with that! Hopefully there’s many more to come.”
