Huddersfield Town winger heads to Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC

- Rolando Aarons joins Motherwell on loan
- Town winger will spend 2022/23 season with Scottish Premiership side
- Comments from Loans Manager David Fox

We can confirm that Rolando Aarons has today joined Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC on a season-long loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

Having signed for the Club in January 2021 from Newcastle United, the Jamaican international impressed from the wing in the second half of the 2020/21 season before injuries began to impact his availability, with Aarons making just one senior appearance in the 2021/22 season.

Making his international debut for Jamaica against Suriname in the summer of 2022 during the CONCACAF Nations League, he was again injured playing for Town during our 2022/23 pre-season against Harrogate Town.

The second time Aarons will play for Motherwell; he first spent a spell on loan with the Scottish Premiership side back in the 2019/20 season, scoring once across eight appearances for the North Lanarkshire outfit.

Huddersfield Town Loans Manager David Fox commented:

“It’s a positive move for Rolando to a club he’s already familiar with. Unfortunately, injuries and the positive form of other players in his position have been an issue for him since joining Town, but this gives him the opportunity to go and play regular minutes and recapture both his form and fitness.

“Motherwell have shown a real desire to take Rolando on for the season and he’ll be given every opportunity to show what he’s all about in the Scottish Premiership, which will be good for him after such a long period of inactivity.

“Like all of our loanees, we’ll be in regular contact with Rolando, ensuring that he’s progressing in the manner we hope and is benefiting from the move, and we wish him all the best for remainder of the season.”
