Kaine Kesler-Hayden arrives on loan at Huddersfield Town on the back of an impressive 2021/22 season.

Born on 23 October 2002 in Birmingham, he’s progressed his way through the ranks at Aston Villa.

At just 17 years old, he was an unused substitute in Aston Villa’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Everton in July 2020, before playing in the EFL Cup vs Sunderland in September 2020. His senior debut for Villa came in January 2021, where he started in their Emirates FA Cup game against Liverpool.

In May 2021, Kesler-Hayden captained the Aston Villa Under-18 side which won the FA Youth Cup, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the final. Two months later, he was one of several Academy players given a five-year professional contract.

Kaine spent the first half of the 2021/22 season on loan with Sky Bet League Two side Swindon Town. He made his professional league debut in a 3-1 away victory over Scunthorpe United, in which he won a penalty that led to Swindon’s equaliser. He made 17 starts and two sub appearances, scoring once in the Robins’ 2-1 FA Cup victory over Walsall. Despite leaving the Club in January, he was still named Swindon Town’s 2021/22 Young Player of the Year.

In January 2022, Kesler-Hayden stepped up to Sky Bet League One, joining Milton Keynes Dons on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season. He made his debut in February 2022, in a 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town, before scoring his only goal in a 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic. He went on to make 13 starts and two substitute appearances, helping them reach the Play-Offs.

The 19-year-old was called-up to train with the England Under-19 national team in November 2020. In September 2021, he made his debut for England Under-20s during a 6-1 victory over Romania at St. George’s Park; the first of his three caps at that level.
