Young Terriers back in action on Tuesday 2 August 2022

- Fans can attend the 1pm kick-off
- Defender David Adewoju is ready to compete!

B Team defender David Adewoju is looking forward to welcoming Sheffield United to the Millers Oils High Performance Complex on Tuesday 2 August 2022.

Speaking to htafc.com ahead of the match, the 18-year-old reflected on an exciting pre-season.

“Pre-season was really good for me.

“This season I’ve got to play a lot and be involved with the First Team, which has been a really good experience playing against bigger sides and better sides.

“Getting called up and being noticed by the First Team staff, obviously that’s a really good thing. I’m happy that they’ve seen how much hard work I’ve put in.

“Playing with the First Team makes me a better player too - I’m getting faster, stronger, and smarter.”

Last season saw Adewoju head on his first loan spell since joining the Club, and sign his first professional contract!

“Playing with Ossett United was very different to playing with Town, so I had to adjust quickly.

“Ossett played more long balls and were more defensive, so I had to get used to that. It was a good experience for me.

“I signed my first professional contract four months later, which meant a lot!

“I’ve been working for that for so long, so I was really happy!”

Looking ahead to Tuesday’s game against Sheffield United, the young defender is confident that the B Team will perform well.

“We know that Sheffield United will be a tough game, but we’ll play the exact same way that we usually play.

“There’s quite a few of us who have played with the First Team now, which makes our game better - we look sharper and faster.

“We’re a close knit squad, we know what to expect within the team and how to get the best out of each other, so it’ll be a good game.”

Fans are welcome to come to the training ground to support the Young Terriers from 12.30pm. Limited parking will be available at the training ground on a first come, first served basis.
