Huddersfield Town are back in Sky Bet Championship action on Friday 15 April 2022 when they take on QPR at the John Smith’s Stadium; 5:30pm kick-off

Town come into the game having overcome Luton Town 2-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium on Monday evening.

QPR will arrive at the John Smith’s Stadium having lost 2-1 away from home to Preston North End.

THE OPPOSITION

QPR currently sit 11th in the Sky Bet Championship having taken 59 from 41 games.

Managed by Mark Warburton, QPR are still in contention for a play-off place despite inconsistent form since the turn of the year.

Town will be hoping to get revenge when they arrive at the John Smith’s Stadium following a 1-0 defeat to QPR in the reverse fixture in November 2021.

ONES TO WATCH

Jimmy Dunne

After spending many years in the Manchester United academy, Jimmy Dunne made the switch to Burnley in 2016 before making his first team debut in 2017. Following various loan spells to sides such as Accrington Stanley, Hearts and Sunderland, Dunne was signed by Mark Warburton in July 2021. Starting mostly on the left-hand-side of a QPR back three, Dunne has featured in most of the Hoops’ games so far this season, helping himself to three goals and one assist. Dunne is a player that Town will have to work hard against in attack and watch closely from set plays as he possesses a threat in the opposition box. His performances at club level had earnt him a call-up to the Republic of Ireland national team, where Dunne would play twice for the side, making his debut in a 3-1 win over Iceland.

Luke Amos

Having spent 10 years in the Spurs academy, Amos made his first team debut for the London club in 2016, playing in a friendly against Juventus. Amos joined various English clubs on loan before joining QPR on loan during the 2019/20 season, making 34 appearances for the Hoops. The 25-year-old was then signed permanently by QPR in 2020 where he would rupture his ACL and play little part in his first season at the club. Following his return from injury, Amos has featured in most games for QPR this season. With the ability to slot into most of the positions across the midfield, Amos has been most effective when starting in a more attacking midfield role, scoring four times so far this season.

Lydon Dykes

Standing at 6’2, Scottish international forward Lyndon Dykes is a handful up front for QPR. Born on the Gold Coast of Australia to Scottish parents, the striker’s career has seen him play in Australia and Scotland before eventually making the move to QPR in 2020. Still just 26-years-old, his ability in front of goal is boosted by his strong hold up play, bringing those around him into the game and causing defenses to lose their shape as he drags defenders out of position with his movement. Having formed a good partnership with Andre Gray, he’s a player Town’s defence will have to pay close attention to.
