Huddersfield Town centre back Naby Sarr was delighted to get himself on the scoresheet and help secure another three points for the Terriers on Monday evening.

Sarr was on hand to send home a Sorba Thomas delivery in the 89th minute, seeing Town run out 2-0 winners over Luton Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

Speaking to HTTV after the game, Sarr was quick to comment on how he was feeling after the final whistle.

“I’m so happy!

“I’m so happy I scored this goal, I’m so happy the team won today.

“I think the whole team worked really hard to get this result, from the starters to the people on the bench.

“Everyone is happy today.”

The centre back has had to bide his time in recent weeks, and commented on grabbing every opportunity with both hands.

“I had to!

“I haven’t been playing much the last weeks, but I had the opportunity to get some minutes today, and you have to take what you’re given.

“I think I took the opportunity today to help the team in the best way, so I’m happy.”

Delighted to get his name on the scoresheet, the Senegalese defender discussed finding the back of the net.

“I was there, first of all, to help the team to defend, to keep the result, because 1-0 is still a win.

“Then there was a corner, so I was thinking “yeah, this might be a chance to put it to 2-0, whoever scores,” I thought it was going to be a relief for the whole team, and luckily it was me! I’m so happy.”
