On 29 April 1922, Huddersfield Town were victorious in the English Cup, the former name to the FA Cup. The final was held at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge for the last time before moving to the newly built Wembley Stadium.
Town’s opponents that day were Preston North End and Town won by a single goal; a penalty scored by Billy Smith in the 67th minute.
