Huddersfield Town Head Coach expects a ‘very competitive game’ against Luton Town on Monday 11 April 2022.

The Terriers return to Sky Bet Championship action when they host the Hatters at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking to the press in his virtual press conference, Carlos discussed what he expects from Monday evening’s visitors.

"It’s one game worth three points, but when you see where the two teams are in the table, it’s a game between two sides that are competing very well.

"I expect the game to be very competitive because of the position of Luton Town in the table, but also because Luton play in a way where you need to compete very well regardless if you want to try and take something away from the game."

Town go into the game off the back of a 0-1 victory over Hull City on Friday 1 April 2022, something Town’s Head Coach says should help his players confidence going forward.

"The victory was very, very important.

"We came into the game after two straight defeats and sometimes defeats can change the confidence of the team, so it was important we stopped that.

"We needed to change the dynamics and achieve a positive result at Hull.

"I want this team to be ready for everything because one day you can be winning, and then the next you are not."

The Spaniard also gave an update on his squad's fitness.

"Unfortunately, this week we have picked up an injury to an important player in Matty Pearson.

"In training, he was involved in a tackle that hurt his knee, which gave him some problems.

"For other players, this injury would end their season but with Matty we are not sure because if any player can reduce the time for full recovery, it is him because of his character and determination.

"Some players need 6-8 weeks to recover from this, but let’s see how long it takes Matty.

"No operation is going to be required, just treatment on the knee.

"Aside from Matty, all the squad is fit for Monday’s game.

"Danny Ward and Jonathan Hogg have recovered from the illness they had."
