Huddersfield Town are back on the road on Saturday 23 October 2021 when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to take on AFC Bournemouth; 3pm kick-off.

Town go into Saturday’s game looking to extend their unbeaten run to five, following their 0-0 draw with Birmingham City on Wednesday 20 October 2021.

Bournemouth come into the game off the back of 1-0 win over Stoke City on Tuesday 19 October.

THE OPPOSITION

The conclusion of last season saw Bournemouth finish sixth in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Their Play-Off Semi-Final saw them beat Brentford in the First Leg, before being beaten 3-2 on aggregate following the second.

The 2020/21 season saw the Cherries play under two managers. Jason Tindall was appointed in August 2020, but left in February 2021 after a poor run of results.

Having joined Bournemouth’s coaching staff in February 2021, Jonathan Woodgate was appointed caretaker manager two days later. He was given the role until the end of the season, but left in June following the Club’s Play-Off result.

They appointed former Fulham Manager Scott Parker as their Head Coach on 28 June 2021.

The Cherries have had an impressive start to the 2021/22 campaign, sitting top of the Sky Bet Championship table with 31 points from 13 games.

ONES TO WATCH

Dominic Solanke

Solanke signed for Bournemouth from Liverpool in January 2019. He made his debut in a 2-0 away loss to Cardiff City in February 2019. The 2020/21 season saw the striker net 15 goals in 40 appearances, making him the Club’s joint top goalscorer alongside Arnaut Danjuma. He also got nine assists in the process. The 24-year-old has started the current campaign in a similar style, currently sitting as the Cherries’ top goalscorer with eight goals, including one against Stoke City on Tuesday 19 October 2021.

Ryan Christie

The midfielder joined the Cherries ahead of the current season. Making the move from Celtic, he put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract. Christie made his debut 11 days after signing, coming off the bench in the Club’s 3-0 win over Barnsley. The Scotland international has appeared in all eight games since his arrival, and currently holds the title for the most assists for Bournemouth, with four. Two of those came in the Cherries’ 2-1 win over Luton Town in September 2021.

Philip Billing

A familiar face to Town fans, the 25-year-old signed with Bournemouth in July 2019. Putting pen-to-paper on a long-term contract, he scored his first goals for the Cherries in their FA Cup Third Round fixture against Luton Town. The 2020/21 season saw the midfielder make 34 appearances and find the back of the net on eight occasions. Playing higher up the pitch than he did at Town appears to be paying off for Billing, who has bagged five goals in 12 appearances so far during the current campaign.
