Head Coach Carlos Corberán insists that Huddersfield Town should use the defeat to Bournemouth to learn from in order to be more competitive against the strongest sides in the Sky Bet Championship.

Speaking at full-time, Carlos conceded that Bournemouth used their chances better and were more dangerous in possession than Town, which was a clear sign of the room for improvement still available for his side.

“It’s true that they were better than us and they used their chances better than us.

“We couldn’t score from the chances we had or create the danger that some of our actions could’ve given us.

“The third goal scored the dynamic of the game, because at 2-0 if we score one goal we have the opportunity to be back in the game.

“For me the conclusion is simple, we need to improve as a team to be competitive against this type of opponent.

“We want to improve, we want to grow. That’s going to be our mentality on Monday.

“The team made the hard effort without complaint in the week. More than accept, we have to use this kind of defeat to improve and be a more competitive team.

“The only way to have success in football is to be able to compete in every type of game.

“If you look at the Fulham game and today, we have conceded half of the goals in these games than we have in total, which means we’re not managing well enough when we’re playing against strong opponents.

“This team and this group of players have a humble mentality, and they want to be better. Our only target is to be competitive against any type of opponent.”
