Huddersfield Town B Team defender expects his teammates to continue their good run of form when they welcome Watford to the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday 8 October 2021.

The Young Terriers host Watford in their second group game of the Premier League Cup, kicking off at 7pm.

Sitting down with HTTV, Jackson was quick to discuss how he’s found the 2021/22 season up to this point.

“It’s been enjoyable.

“There’s perhaps some frustrations that I’ve maybe not been with the First Team perhaps as much as I would have liked, but you’ve got to take it as it comes.

“I’ve enjoyed every day of training, whether that’s been with the First Team or with the B Team.

“Pre-season was a good experience and the season’s getting going now and we’re starting to get some good, interesting games, so getting into them is enjoyable.”

The youngster has been on the scoring end of some impressive free kicks recently, including two against Oxford United in the B Team’s qualifying Premier League Cup game! Jackson says they are something that he ensures he has the time to work on.

“It’s a trait that I’ve always wanted to have.

“As a youngster you just practice them after training.

“It’s one of those things where not many players can say that they have that skill, so if it’s a little unique thing that I can have, then it’s something that I’ll try and take with me.

“It’s something that I practice probably a bit too much, I’ve had a bit of a hip problem because of it, but it’s big for me.

“It gets me a chance at goals that maybe I might not get otherwise.”

Looking ahead to Friday’s game, the defender commented on what he hopes the Young Terriers will get from it.

“Obviously a win!

“You have to go into these games expecting to win.

“We did well against Birmingham, we showed a lot of character to come from behind and win that game.

“If we win this, we put ourselves in a strong position, so that’s got to be our mindset.

“We’ve got to go into it 100% determined.”
