- Young Terrier made return to B Team against Blackpool
B Team defender Loick Ayina discussed the positives of his loan spell as he returned to Town following a temporary switch to Boston United.
Ayina made five appearances during his month-long loan, helping the Pilgrims to three wins and a draw over that period.
The 18-year-old defender also won two Man of the Match awards for his impressive performances whilst with the National League North side.
“It was a very good experience,” said Ayina.
“We had good, physical games and there was experience in the centre-back positions.
“I am very happy to be back, but I was happy to go on loan to Boston.
“Some of the lessons I have learnt are that I need to be consistent from when I start a game to the last minute and I need to be confident.
“I know I don’t have the body for senior football just yet, but I play with my head and I am physical.
“I got two Man of the Match awards whilst I was there.
“Honestly, I was very surprised because everyone on the pitch played so well!
“But I was happy, and I celebrated with Brahima Diarra, Etienne Camara, and my family and I was just very, very happy.
“Now I am back, I have got some more experience, so now I wait for some bench appearances or minutes maybe.
“In training, I need to work consistently because my goal is to get on the bench or play in the FA Cup with the First Team.”
Ayina returned to Town’s B Team line-up against Blackpool and played the opening 45 minutes, where Town went into the break 1-0 up.
The centre-half believes he put in a good display on Tuesday afternoon.
“It felt very good to be back at Huddersfield after my loan with Boston.
“It was a good game, I only played 45 minutes, but it was good.
“I thought I put in a good performance.
“I lost the ball at times, but it was a good performance.
“Whilst on the pitch I kept a clean sheet and was strong, so I’m pleased.
“A few of the First Team players played today and it was good to play with them.”
