INTERNATIONALS: WINS FOR SINANI, COLWILL & HIGH!

12 November 2021

A round-up of Town players enjoying international honours

- A round-up of international appearances so far this break
- Levi Colwill & Scott High make first starts for age groups
- Another cap for loanee Danel Sinani

All three Town players who have been in international action so far have enjoyed that winning feeling heading into the weekend!

Levi Colwill (above) make his England Under-19 debut this week, starting at centre back and captaining the side to a 4-0 win over Andorra on Wednesday. Levi came off with 10 minutes to go, with his side already four ahead.

That game was the first of three Euro 2022 qualifiers for the Under-19s, all taking place in Sweden over the next week, with the second against Switzerland on Saturday lunch time. The top two sides from the group of four will move to the Elite Round of qualifying.

Having made his debut as a substitute for Scotland Under-21s in the previous window, midfielder Scott High made his first start in Friday night’s important 2-1 win over Kazakhstan. Scotty played the full 90 in holding midfield as the Scots earned their first win in Group I of the 2023 Euro U21 qualifiers, with the nation needing to finish in the top two of the five team group to qualify.

Danel Sinani earned another Luxembourg cap too, playing around 70 minutes in a good 3-1 win in Azerbaijan in their penultimate World Cup qualifier. Unfortunately, his nation cannot qualify now, with Portugal and Serbia already through from their group, but they can finish third if they do not lose to the Republic of Ireland on home soil on Sunday.

Sorba Thomas – Town’s fourth international – could be in action for Wales on Saturday when they host Belarus.
