Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán shared his thoughts on Town’s away loss to Cardiff City at full-time in South Wales.

Discussing the match shortly after full-time at the Cardiff City Stadium, the Head Coach was insistent that Town had done enough to deserve a draw at the very least from their trip to the Welsh capital, sharing his frustration on the result.

“Today is a very difficult defeat to accept," Carlos explained.

"For me, we did enough to be celebrating a better result.

“At the end of the first-half we had the chances to score the second goal and change the game.

"At the start of the second-half we had the chances to score the second goal again and completely change the game.

"When you don’t do that, you put the result at risk.

“In the last two games we’ve lost points that were important points for us, so it’s 100% frustration the feeling that we have.

"For me, the minimum result that we deserved today was to not lose the game.”

Having been boosted by the fitness of Jonathan Hogg and Duane Holmes before the match having had both players forced off against Peterborough in the week, the Head Coach explained that their subsequent injuries against Cardiff were both new issues, and not reoccurrences of past complaints.

“Hogg arrived into the game with one problem in the thigh muscle, but today in one action he had a problem with his right knee, which is no consequence of his previous issue.

"I don’t know yet if it’s serious, if it’s long term or short term.

"Of course, we hope this injury has the least impact possible.

“Holmes is totally different.

"He had one problem in his foot the other day, but today he feels something in the muscle of the right leg, which is a totally different injury to the one he had before.

"Unfortunately, that’s the first muscle injury he’s had this year and it’s a pity, because we know how important Holmes has been for us.”
