Carlos Corberán has provided the latest Huddersfield Town team news ahead of Saturday’s final game of the season against Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
After securing Sky Bet Championship status for next season last weekend, the Terriers will look to finish the season strongly against the Royals in Saturday’s 12.30pm (UK) kick-off.
But Town will be without Pipa, Harry Toffolo and Fraizer Campbell for the game in Berkshire according to Town’s Head Coach.
“Pipa won’t be available. He won’t be ready to play the game,” Carlos told the media during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.
“Toffolo won’t be ready because he was playing the last game with an injury.
“Campbell is still out of the team. We haven’t recovered him or anybody else that was injured in this game.”
With no players returning from injury this week, it means that both Álex Vallejo and Isaac Mbenza will not have recovered from their respective injuries in time to feature in Saturday’s final game of the campaign.
Elaborating on his squad’s fitness, Carlos spoke more about the recent injury problems that Pipa and Toffolo have been battling and hopes to have them back to full fitness when preparations for next season begin in the summer.
“We know that Toffolo was making good progress, but it was not a normal recovery.
“Pipa will keep on doing exercises to make him stronger over the summer. The minutes he did weren’t the same until he arrived here.
“Toffolo is in the recovery, Pipa is in the work to make his body stronger.
“I hope with this time and in the good hands, both will be ready for the start of pre-season.”
